- We don’t know Mary’s maiden name or her parents. It could be Dimmick or it could be Witherel. When she died, the names of her parents were listed as John and Sarah Witherel in the Town of Bourne Records, but we are not sure that is correct. This is the ONLY place where they are named as her parents. In records of her marriages her parents are listed as “unknown”. This implies that while she was alive, she did not know who her parents were. Any help would be appreciated!
